Hehe, I was just reading an article about this the other day and was going to comment on it, but I thought, "no, can this really be that important or is the USA media just blowing things out of proportion."
My main question is why is Rage Against the Machine been selected as the group to combat X Factor or whatever it is called and receive the notoriety as a Christmas #1? Because of their status as a protest type group?

each year simon cowell has made a 1 hit wonder for the past 4 years. the songs has even been chrismesie.
so this year a coup on facebook made a page saying rgmt for no1 so show simon cowell where to stink it.
the band it self is know as a protest band. plus the lyrics of the song is ahter reson coz half way few it says "Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me"

Hehe, yeah, I'm familiar with the song. It was popular when I was in college and I was forced to listen to it repeatedly at very high volumes.
I don't even think Rage is together anymore and that they kind of have disappeared so I thought they were an odd choice even though lyrically I guess it's a message.
I would prefer a cool and possibly bitter Christmas song. I know Jethro Tull and the Kinks both have good ones.

Jethro Tull - Christmas Song The Kinks - Father Christmas video is distracting in my opinion, better to listen and not watch. Probably my favorite rock Christmas song
