I moddet my low cost temporary (until QW. comes out) GFX-card a little, it had a very BAD noisy little devil of a fan mountet so something had to happen. My GFX-card (Inno3D GeForce 7300GS, 256MB 64-bit DDR2 (Turbo Cache 512MB) with the bad noisy fan. Sooo.. OFF with the bad noisy fan we go. An look how the Thermal Grease was put on the GPU., or should I say, around the GPU. But thats what you get when buying a low cost card.. fair enough. Cleant it as mutch as I could, and as you can see, also addet some RAM-heatsink's And on with some new Thermal Grease, the way it's supposed to be put on. /learn Inno3D. And now, unwrapping time.. wuhuu .. The beautyful new fan, a ZALMAN VF900-CU LED - And look how it shines/mirror, now THATS quality. Now.. on with it, and YES, it fits, I had my douths, but it fits just only, that transsister came a bit TO close for my nerves to handle.. lol. (and yes I know it looks kinda stupit, with that big fan on that little card, but couldent stand the noise from the other, so it HAD to go.) And to really put it in perspektive HOW mutch bigger it is: Result:Now the temp dosen't really rise on the card anymore, it holds a stedy temp between 34-37C. ALL the time, even after a full gaming Sunday frag night. It is VERY quiet, and I can't hear it when it runs in "Silent Mode" which I do all the time, even when gameing. It has now been running smootly for a week, so I can only highly recomment to change your GFX. fan, if its a noisy little one like mine WAS. -------------------------- AND NOW finally.. you never guess what happent to the little irritateing fan? Yes, thats right.. there was no way out.. it died ;D lol

Nice post Blue, very interesting and nicely laid out, I would have no worries attempting that job following your instructions.

Thanks Lambert A Fan/Heatpipe/Cooler etc. etc. always comes with a instruction manual (well atleast if its from ZALMAN I know) how to mount it, so its really just to follow that step by step (with a stedy hand and some coffey and NO rushing. A little but VERY importent thing to know and remember, is NOT to put to mutch Thermal Grease/Pasta on the GPU. or even CPU. Not to mutch and not to little, it really only has to just bearly cover the GPU./CPU. If putting TO mutch on, it will heat up, and also with putting to little on, it will also heat up. So remember to keep an eye on the Temp. the following days after installing a new cooler. Not everyone has the opportunity to see the temp on the system, GFX-cart, processer etc. etc. (depends on your hardware) But there is a few programs out there that works pretty good, messuring your temp., one I have good expirence with is a program called SpeedFan. Website: www.almico.com/speedfan.phpDownload: www.almico.com/speedfan431.exeGood luck

I just installed this one to, from Zalman. CPU cooler/fan (CNPS9500 AM2) Instead of the stock one that came with the CPU. Shoulden had got it (PIB).. I know that for next time Its totally noiseless in silent-mode, and keeps the temp. on 34C. and about 40C. in gaming mode with only 1400 RPM.= silent mode speed) Its like the never ending story to add and add and add on your comp.. but its cool, loving it ;D
