Seasons Greetings & a Punkbuster Problem

Hi there all, just wanted to wish everyone the best for this holiday season and a wonderful new year.

On a side note I have been trying to log onto Vanishing Point with no luck at all. I did upgrade my OS to Windows 7 and I am getting the following message.

Restriction: Service Communication Failure: PnkBstrB.exe initialization failed (and then forwards me to the faq at evenbalance.com). I have updated all of my Punkbuster information but am a loss at what else I need to fix.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hey K4CH,

I had, I believe, the same problem when I upgraded to Windows 7. I'm pretty sure what fixed it was uninstalling PB and then reinstalling it. Something must get out of whack during the upgrade process.

you could always having a look at your firewall and make sure that the pb stuff is aloud few. i know i had to tell it to let my few

I tried that but no luck, in the end I uninstalled and reinstalled everything and it appears to work. I even installed ET and will give that a bit of a go along with QW over the next few days.

I had that checked so I figured it had to be due with Windows 7, fortunately a fresh install seems to have worked.

Thank you very much I am happy to report that there is lots of snow falling, and not too terribly cold temperatures to deal with. I am hoping to test out my new snow shoes, and see if I can take some pictures of snowy owls out on the prairies in the next while.
