Which other games do we play these days?

Ok here s the question: while we all get a little bored of QW once in a while, which other games do we play? Supermario? Tetris? 5 vs. Willy (ok that s a guys game only)

Now for serious, I have:

QW (of course)
ET (once in a while)
tried UT2007 (needs tons of updates n maps online, downloads are crappily slow which sucks)
was thinking of L4D II, but would only try that if we really have some ppl playing it too since it only has 4on4 and you probably need serious teamplay to have fun with it

Lets see,

I have L4D and Killing Floor. I find both a lot of fun but hardly play them. It always seems a lot more hassle getting in a good game with someone with them. Most fun I had was when catching Zack, Igor, or Haz on with them.

I got my older boy Dirt 2 for Christmas. That is a fun and gorgeous looking rally/offroad racer. It leans more towards arcade style then technical which is nice because we play it together. He is the accelerator, and I steer and break. We haven't tried it online yet, but if anyone happens to get it let me know.


For single players I have Batman Arkham Asylum and Dragon Age. The Batman game is awesome and a lot of fun but I haven't played much of it. Dragon Age is fantastic. I have been putting a lot of time in it. Have you got into it much Haz? SD, you definitely need to pick it up if you like the old Baldur's games. Probably my ownly complaint is that your party is capped at 4, and it does have a little bit of a console feel to it here and there since they made it available across the board.

I bought L4D2 recently so I'm playing on this one a little bit more the last 2 weeks.

I played some good games with H and MCE Zaku, and I also have other nice people in my friendlist that you can count as serious players (for KF & L4D2)

I have more than 50 games to say the least.

PC games: QW, Mount & Blade, Medieval II Total War, Rome Total War, World of Warcraft, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind, Zoo Tycoon II, Star Wars: Empire at War, Empire Earth, Empire Earth: The Art of Conquest, Empire Earth II, and if you count QW ProMod, then I have that too.

NOTE: These games are ONLY my PC games. To list all of my console games, I would need a few hours.

I pre-ordered the other day so I must be looking forward to it, because I seldom pre-order anything.

Anyway, I got a couple of portal 1 copies thrown in, which can be gifted through Steam.

Anybody play anything in the Arma or Armed Assault series? I know it's not related to Portal or Crysis whatsoever, but I've never looked at them really .

Have played a bit of Half Life 2 though, not yet completed it. I have Half Life 2: The Lost Coast as well, so those are about my only sci-fi games .

Anyone else got it?

I've been playing for the last week and it's great stuff.
Sort of like Laser Squad (or the planning phase in the early Rainbow Six games).
There are plenty of videos on youtube because you can upload them directly from the game.

It's £15 for two copies on Steam. Sadly, I've already given away my second copy to my brother (who hasn't even played it yet, the ungrateful bugger. No Internet, indeed).

I am currently playing the Tribes Ascend closed beta. Bloody hard to master the movement but huge fun (I haven't enjoyed capture the flag this much for years). It's going to be free to play, but it looks like you'll be paying to unlock classes quicker. If I get any keys, I'll post them up here. I have a solitary key if anyone is interested.

Oh and Rage. Which was pretty good too, even if some of the textures looked a bit low-res.

CryEngine remake of the idtech based arena shooter. Looks to be slowed down for console controllers. (Original still under development as Xonotic)

Shootmania
Trackmania style map creation applied to an arena shooter. Bringing the ability to create maps to a wider audience would be super (back to the Doom days . I worry a bit that they'll decide to only sell it through their website again. There aren't many full trackmania 2 servers, which isn't a big problem because latency is no issue for their no-clip style racing, but it would completely kill an FPS.

Tribes Ascend
Still enjoying this. Never played the original Tribes games so this is my first taste of skiing and spinfusor jumping. Free-to-play isn't ideal but if the alternative is having a multiplayer-only game with no players then lowering the barrier to entry seems sensible. At least the games-as-a-service model gives developers more (financial) incentive to improve games after launch.

Free-to-play again but this time in the third person and not very retro (I'm not making another post for 3rd-person man shooters ). Borderlands art styling from some of the original tribes developers.
