Oh LOL!!! I bet I know it, but I'm not completely sure..... Just gonna try something here.

Here's my first guess: The dead midget and the other person were dating/seeing each other, they got into an argument (??) and the other person cut the midget's walking stick in a rage. The other person stormed out and the midget was so upset that he killed himself.

Am I completely right?
Are parts of it right?
Am I right about them seeing each other?

Is this completely off and I should try again?!

Basically completely off, hehe. There was no romantic involvement. All the pieces fit together. Your last answer didn't factor in some of the facts as being pertinent.

Did the short guy have stilts? Are these the discs?
Do we need to know his mind state?
Were lions involved?
Was it in England or America? As shotgun license's are needed in England!!
Was it some kind of draw as with our crappy match with the USA....Germany to win, with their great passing...GGrrr

Where did all of those questions come from? It's no to all, except for the mind state, which is depressed. You have all the pieces. I'm afraid to summarize because I think someone will have the answer from that.

A 1-1 'tie' between the USA and UK is more like a win for the USA isn't it? hehe

Guess I can turn the game off then, hehe, not that I care all that much but was actually watching the last 1/3 of the game. USA had a ton of shots/chances on goal. They should have had about 6 goals.

Anyway, you guys/gals have everything you need to solve the puzzle. One piece that may be helpful is the little fellas actual job/position/responsibility.

He is in the dwarf act in the big top and was seen by many.
He does have a stick as in a cane that I think fruit figured out.

Yep the 'material' is the tent that is the circus tent they are in. The dust is sawdust from the cutting the discs off of the little guy's cane. There is still plenty of cane left.

The circus is not closing.

Hehe, Ok, Ok. Cane isn't for balancing. It's truly a cane as in what you think of(or at least I think of) for walking. Here's a big give away that should help. The discs(pieces cut of the cane) were not all cut off at the same time. There were days if not weeks or months between them being cut.
