10 minute PunkBuster ban?

Playing on the Aardy's server just a couple minutes ago and got booted by PunkBuster for some kind of MDtool communication error. Anyway, it also banned me for 10 minutes. Anyone run into this before? Any ideas on what would have caused it? About a year ago PB was disconnecting me constantly until I did a total unistall/install of all of it a couple times. It just would disconnect me over and over again. This was definitely something different.

Dave got a 40 min's ban yesterday by PB. For some reson I'm not ever sure PB. knows..

30minute ban was for cvar settings.

It seems that its usually due to bad band width or high packet loss.

Pb used to kick me off COD4 all the time....hanshake failure,md5 tool queries and lots of other different things
pb is shite and know it's playing catch-up all the time
Still it's the only one out there

Not true SD, not true. Arma 2 uses an anti-cheat system called Battle-Eye. There are probably more problems with BE than PB, though.

It kicks you if there's any sort of problem with your connection with its systems and/or the server. Lag is about the only thing it will tolerate.

Also, I'm not sure you're able to ban people through its system, unlike with PB. But because it kicks people to often, it's really effective for stopping hackers ;D. I've only been kicked by it once though .

Ok MD5 Tool mismatch is a very serious thing. Im not to sure exactly what its is :/ there are loads of bans for MD5 tool mismatch, these can be global bans from EB that will never get removed. What its basicly is that PB may not of read the files properly or it was unable to gain access to a file it needs to check. or you have a corrupted file which is important to the game and if changed can give you a very unfair advantage. When a hax is used some haxs mess with the important files which are not allowed to be changed. Hope that gives more of an idea on what it is.

Its not the only one out there but is in my opinion the best tbh. Every anti cheat programs play catch up. They cant predict what haxs are being made so they cant prevent them. When a hax is made and then used they then know what to look for and them make counter measures for it. MD5 tool Queries are the best way to stop new haxs from being used. Just to point out PB doesn't make then bans Even Balance dose PB just enforce them.

I Was kicked for the same reason once from Aardvark server.... Miller told me it was just my bad connection... so mustve been just u had a bad connection....
