Hey guys. It's me, Frootlupe, I'm not dead. Been so long some of you probably thought I was, and I wouldn't blame ya . But I'm back now, played a whole ton of games and met a ton of new people. Been invited to other clans for other games, but I've always remembered who I truly belong to and declined. I would like to say now that I play Garry's Mod sometimes, Counter Strike Source, and Arma II/ Operation Arrowhead. ETQW hasn't been installed on this computer yet (yes, this is I think the 4th "new computer" I've told you about), but if you all want me to I'll put it on here and play. It's just so good to read all your posts again and know that I was and still am, hopefully, part of this awesome clan. I joined when, 2009? That's two years already ;D. Sorry for my inactivity, and I am truly sorry about not being a part of what has been going on in the past long while. But I'll be checking forums more often, though I don't know if I still have the knack for ETQW. Well that's about it for now. If anyone has any comments or questions or whatnot feel free to reply or PM, I'm always open for a chat (did we move to TS3?). Frootlupe

@ts3: What's the IP and password if there is one? @me leaving for good: Never, you know that . @etqw: Already installed, and I have never uninstalled it. Ever. Been so many different computers in my life its annoying . @brink: I haven't heard any tell of that since the big hullabaloo it made on the forums a while ago. It's out now I believe. Will ask around friends I've made in my gaming travels and see if its any good. Easter is coming up, good excuse to get it ;D. @my age: Hum, still having trouble remembering my age, eh? 14 still . Nice to hear from you, Z. Hope to be shot by your cyclops many times soon.

Operation Flashpoint was the predecessor to Arma ;D ;D very nice! And yes, it is essentially one shot one kill with almost every firearm, except maybe a 9 millimeter or from a distance of 200 yards plus. Be pretty cool if you do end up getting it, though it is not your typical first person shooter. Was a pretty hard conversion from BF and QW to Arma for me. Took a lot of bullets in the beginning .

Well, I played Flashpoint religiously when it was the only ground-breaking game out there Crawling around on your belly in a ghillie suit, with peeps walking around you and evading tanks and BMP's....Great fun!! Only game (apart from Crysis) that lagged my pc out and it was 3-4 years before Crysis I'd try at least 10 different ways to solve one map and there was a lot of running around and hiding Makes me shed a tear just to remember just how much fun I had playing Flashpoint! ;D Many people playing Arma ATM?

There are loads and loads and loads of servers, many of them full . A large percentage of the community make custom mods or at least test a lot of them out, including me ;D (well, the testing part ). I'm not a big fan of ghillie suits myself. Enjoy piloting an Mi-24 now and then, but mostly I'm a squad-based airborne infantry kinda guy. Had my share of BMPs firing at me, always fun to set a satchel charge on the tracks ;D. You say to solve the map. Did each mission in Flashpoint occur in a different map? For Arma, you get a small country, then you are assigned (based on storyline completion) a task to complete within. Mainly it is something similar to seecuring an airfield after taking out enemy AA assets, but I have done some high-value-target assassination . I mainly play multiplayer, though. Most of the time Co-op Domination, which is where all players are on one team and you capture the whole country, but I also do a lot of PvP. Takes a lot of patience to be successful at that.

Like you say for Arma, Flashpoint was a whole country, but the missions were on a map (you couldn't run over the whole country) The ghillie suit map, was just one of the most frustrating maps when you alone, had to take out a high ranking Ruskie, beardy weirdy Took me ages and got killed loads Think I'll have a look at what price I can get Arma for!! ;D

Cool. Some info here - Arma II is the latest one, but there is a major expansion for it called Operation Arrowhead, which adds a new country, campaign, new models and weapons, etc. I recommend that if you get the original, you should also try and get Arrowhead. There are other minor expansions to Arrowhead, like British Armed Forces (get to play a whole new campaign as the Brits ;D), and Private Military Company, which includes another new campaign. They are not necessary in order to play on servers that use them, but the new textures and models used are of a much lower quality if you do not have the minor expansion.
Also, Arma's system requirements are a bit on the high side. Not exactly sure what they are, though. I'll go ahead and look them up or give you a link.

I haven't done much singleplayer in Arrowhead, but essentially it seems to be about the same as you described for Flashpoint. You have set objectives to complete, though there is an entire country that must be captured in the end.
Arrowhead is in a mock-Middle Eastern country, so there are tons and tons of valleys and mountains. Looks just like Afghanistan, really. Stealth relies more on timing your movements rather than visual camoflague, and armor/air support is given a whole new meaning. Not much urban fighting, though there are lots of villages and one map called Zargabad, which is a city map.
I say a map called Zargabad. That's because the main country is Takistan, but there are other maps, such as Zargabad, one called Desert, another called Shapur. They're essentially separate maps for areas that aren't covered in the main Takistan map.
For singleplayer as well, there is a lot of waiting to be done. I'm sure this was the same in Flashpoint, but in Arma II, Arrowhead especially, you must wait for allies to take positions and choppers to come give you an evac, etc.
