This game looks quite intriguing. Anyone tried it out? I like the mix of open sandbox type feel mixed with FPS.

Negatives are there appears to be quite a bit of hacking going on in it and admins for servers appear to be quite limited on what kind of things they can do. I think private servers can be setup but you need a dedicated group playing to make that work.

It's 30 bones(us$) to get ARMA II and the required expansion for the mod to work. I'm feeling quite tempted to give it a try this weekend.

Seriously though, it does look interesting. The chap responsible works on Arma so I think they're going to release a standalone version eventually. Given the size of my Steam yet-to-play pile, I'll probably wait for a proper 1.0 release.

After Brink let down don't want to get my hopes to high but it looks cool
And with over 1,000,000 people playing it already it might be a good game to try out

It's about 30 bucks(usa dollars) to get ARMA II that Dayz uses as a base game to mod over. I just saw this today also

It's getting its own full non mod release like malkie predicted. Probably going to take a while to come out but I'll wait for the real thing now. They are going to let the full release run in alpha so may get that initially.

Great game!! It is not ETQW but I think it is the game of decade
But I wish I could stay alive for more then 3 minutes
You only get one life then you start back at the beach with a flashlight, and couple other items

I would say buy it and buy it now
I need help I am tried of getting eat up by the zombie and shot by everyone I meet ha ha

Nice to see you are interested about DayZ !

I play this game too and it's very cool. The game is so better if you play with your friends, coz alone your survival chances are weak ! (the map is so fucking big (225 km²) there are zombies and damn bandits everywhere ! )
Like i said to Blue, you need some hours of playing before to know all mechanics and tips about the game.
It's difficult at the beginning to play if you don't have any experience with Arma 2 (for example : the game is a military simulation so there is a ton of keybinds, there is a bulletdrop, the interface of the inventory, arma 2 physics are really weird sometimes... etc etc...)

After you have learn all those things, the game is really funny ! The only bad things about the game are the hackers (that's why they gonna release a standalone) and some bugs (the game is in alpha so...)

To play this mod :

- You need to buy "ARMA II: Combined Operations". I recommend you to buy it from Steam : store.steampowered.com/sub/4639/
- You need to download the free mod on the official website (via six launcher or Dayzcommander, no matter) : dayzmod.com/
