Hello everyone,

I have been playing on your ETQW public server for a few days by now and I though I would pass by to say hello. This is my first time playing and online computer FPS(previous experiences only on console games) and I like it a lot so far.

Thanks for having such a nice server, most of the other servers I tried while looking randomly through the list are lacking a lot of stuff I see here(as they say, a good place is where good people is), so thank you again and keep the great job!

I apologize beforehand if I'm a bit slow on the game, and if there is a way to write other than quick commands I don't know it yet sorry about that too(I'll fix that as soon as I get a headset, mine's got lost).

One last thing! Even though I understand english perfectly, I'm from the caribbean(Puerto Rico), so I can mess up while writing sometimes and my accent may be funny

Computer is the only real way to play FPS

Yea consoles are not much fun compared to a pc... i tried some hitman game once, and never found out how to precisely aim without the mouse

It' normal man, you can't,

I tried to finish Quake 3 many years ago on my Dreamcast on hard level,...... It's totally impossible.

That's true. Even though the only previous online experience had been on console(Halo anyone?), I agree that there is not question that mouse/keyboard combination is the best. Heh, my first shooters were the classics, Wolfenstein, DoomI, QuakeI, Hexen... but even with all that, the whole team play takes FPS to another level(which I'm trying to keep up with ;D)

Aehm guys i'm posting here cause i don't wanna open another topic..i've played with some of you tonight in your server it's poison from ]mxb[ (mixedblood). Listen we got a server on a mod called etpro. We played on clanbase with that mod.. it's a competition mod... basically it's nothing like on ranked servers.. you play stopwatch, and you play 2 rounds per map. You attack and then you have to make all objets. as fast as you can and try to make a good time that the opposing team will have to beat when they will attack. There are no mines no radars, no drones, no turrets, no vehicles if you are playing on a server with 4v4 infantry only settings on. If you play 6v6 you get some vehicles, like 1 tormentor etc. you can put just one turret. If you have 3 engies you can put 3 turrets and all different. (you can't put 2 avts) and maps you play are not all the maps you get etpro mod only supports

i usually prefer to play on ranked servers cause i get more fun.. thing is we need to practice cause we want to get ready for some toruneys on clan base..(hopefully).
We played on clanbase a 4v4 infantry only tourney and we have our server with both 4v4 and 6v6 settings. I've read that some of you have heard about this mod.. it's a small mod that you install and you can launch from a sep. icon or from the game. Current version is 1.0. If you are interested add me on xfire (p0isonblack)
and we can talk. I've noticed you are good and use advanced teamwork so it could be good for us to have a team to practice with. We are an italian clan.. well i think it's enough for now. Keep me posted. p.s. if you feel like you don't want to install it cause it doesn't sound fun and stuff we can make a friendly anyway on your ranked server (actually we got one of ours on the ranked system too) well.. later

nice 2 see you on our forums as well. Btw you can open your own threads when you sign up on the forum.
I thought you can't pw ranked servers, so its kinda impossible to have friendlies on a ranked server. But we do hold the occasional fun scrim, with full QW-stuff though, but a no spawncamping rule. Well since you were on our server, you probably noticed our policy there :-)
This is majorly different from any competition rules, but since we all play for fun, its the best way to keep it fun.
Plz let me know if you are interested in a friendly match with those rules, we usually round up 6-8 players for that, the more the better :-D

since you guys wanna keep the fun on as whole.. we can play on your ranked server.. just like any fun match without restrictions.. we would prefer to play on etpro with restrictions but it could take a while for your team to get set up.. and then again if you don't really feel like playing with that mod it's ok as long as we're playing.. my clan has been quite lazy lately with trainings etc.. we haven't played together in a while so this could be the right time.. ranked or not.. you guys let me know asap if you got 6 for wednesday cause, for now, just a couple of us are sure to play.. so we're 3 for now. Ok poison, let's begin on vanishing, at least it would give us to time to each other better.

Also, the promod looks quiet interresting, at least it could bring us variety.
I think it would need us a little more than 3 days to get prepared too. We all have to install the mod and we never play it.

By the way, could you give the good link for the mod, I made a search on google but I am not sure.

download the zip or the exe.

You have to extract the files in your quake wars directory.. then you launch the game and you to mods in the main menu and the new mod etpro should appear. There's another option.. you can start the mod from your desktop with a new icon.
You have to copy your config file you use on quake wars to the mod.. otherwise you have to reset everything again.
ANyway we can play on ranked wednesday and then play on the mod later when we are ready and all set. We don't need to rush it. If you agree we can play on your server wednesday anyway and then the promod after. It's ok.
