Left 4 Dead - Multiplayer?

Hey guys,
while I was standing in the shop today looking at the 50EUR price sign of left 4 dead I was wondering whether any of you already tried out the multiplayer part, and whether its any fun? First thing I don't like about it is that its only 4on4... that soooo 1993 i think.

The multiplayer part is the one I strongly believe doesn't get old, as long as you are playing with people with a minimum sense of cooperative play. Right now there are only around 10 maps for multiplayer and 20 for single player(there are going to be more, but hey, at least thats more than QW haha).

If the game allowed more than 4 people, it would get pretty much weird, unbalanced and a lot of other stuff... for this game it works, while on others it wouldnt. You get to play a map as either infected or survivor, then you switch over at the end of the map... the points depend on how far could you reach as a survivor, how much health did you have, and how many survivors made it. The infected try to stop the survivors, which is no easy thing since their health is way lower, they have to rely on teamwork and communication, and each others special skills to get them. after you get killed, you go again to respawn mode, where you choose your location to ambush the survivors... the infected you get its a random, but you'll most likely play all 3(or 4) types of infected in a single round, each one giving you a whole new way to play the game.

What is certain, is that you never get the same experience twice.

Personally is my favorite part of the game, though the coop mode has its charm.

it is a good game. as a infected you firgt with your team and with mildless zombies agasit the survivor.
the maps from what i have seen could not fit more than 4on4 as like i said there are also zombies running about and in a fight it can get very busy with lots of blood going everywhere including your monter screen ( pc tv thing. if i spell that wrong)
sadly you do get ass holes players on there shouting at poeple and so on. the game is very MUCH a team player game. you cant really run off by yourself as a survivor. becouse you wont last that long. the way the infected attacks is that thay jump on you, hold you or gets loads of zombies to attack you all at ocen. so as a survivor you need your team mates to knock the infected off you. if no team mate are around you will most likly die

I am sure the game is realy fun, but I will wait a litlle more before to buy it or not. (surely thought)

At the time of team fortress 2, valve was very quick to rectify bugs and add contents. But for Left 4 Dead, the downloadable contents will have to be certified by microsoft and this will take ages, imo.
Also for the moment, the game suffers from plenty of gameplay bugs that need to be corrected.

A big patch might come this week or the next one.

Its not like I want to push it, but this weekend Steam has L4D 50% off. 25 bucks its definitely more affordable than 50 bucks with or without update, just wanted to let you guys know.

edit: and on a side note, as far as I know the updates that have to be approved by microsoft(just like with tf2) are the ones comming for the 360 version of the game. Most of the major bugs have been removed from the pc version (The ones I knew about of course)

We should exchange Steam nicks I'm the only Alexander Drako on the search so it's easier to find me. Just give me a shout(and bear with my english!). We could use my clan's server instead of some random one(sadly L4D doesn't have a search server thing, you first create a lobby for your friends or random people, then it makes an automatic search for a server to accomodate... by region and stuff, but I can work around that). Sadly the server is in Jersey, I never had lag problems in Puerto Rico, but who knows

that's great, so now we are four to play the coop.

It would be cool, zack and you finish the 4 campaigns on normal difficulty solo mod. Once you would have discover the maps and the basic mechanic of the gameplay, we could start the advanced coop campaign for some challenging game.

A nice first try on the third campain yesterday night with me, Igor, Alexanderdrako & a good player named solid who saved us a couple of times .

When I type "hazik", steam add a russian player named staasik , don't ask me why...
When I type "Hazik", steam give me an error message that a problem occur when it try to add you in the friend list with no more explanations

I post here how to train with the zombies on solo (no multi)

First of all you have to make the console of the game available. I don't go into the details. You can find easily how on internet.

Then, when you can acces the console, start a solo game.
No mercy or blood harvest, that are dedicated normally for the versus mod. It work for the 2 others imo but I didn't try.

Press escape to pause the game, and make appear the console.
Enter that.

sv_cheats 1
sb_all_bot_team 1
director_no_human_zombies 0
chooseteam (or use "M" or whatever key you have assigned to team change)
vs_max_team_switches 99


It will allow you to choose the infected and to train a bit before to play in versus mod.
