I bought an Asus EN 9800 GT Hybrid power (low energy consumption & less noise on 2D applications) 512 Mo. it cost 110€ (the cheapest I found on the internet). The not so good experience with my SLI configuration (2 gfx cards dead within only 3 years, it's a bit to expensive for my credit card), I prefer to put only 1 in my computer It works very fine for the small 1 hour QW I had yesterday . I need to test it on more rescent games to see how it really works. after some hours on STALKER Clear Sky I'm very happy with my new card, it works very well on it, far away from my old sucking gfx's

9800 GT overclocked since I got the card it has improved accuracy, its amazing what a pro gaming mouse and a good graphics card can do for you.

lol im still wondering where that proof is, I am just giving my recommendations, oh and when you have a good gfx card like mine, try not to set the graphics to the highest, set them to the lowest, which gives more fps helping you to concentrate on your aim, believe me you will improve like I did

I had both, Nvidia and ATI. Never had problem with any. The driver for Nvidia are update more often than ATI,
If you do't want too spend too many, I would take an 4870 from ATI, but check the details of the card especially about the fan system if you don't want your computer become noisy as a hoover. Netter have a good power supply too with the last generation of the two builders.
actually I have a 4870 from Sapphir and it works great for cheaper price from Nvidia and same graphical results.

I went with an economic one and I have no problems(and runs everything great and quietly). This is my first ATI and I don't really have anything to complain about. The Radeon 3650. NVIDIA has great cards but if you want to go with economic and only sacrifice a bit of performance(which IMO is almost invisible to the user) I would go with ATI.

Thanks for the replies It seems that ATI offer bigger bang for your bucks by about £70-£80 for an equivalent Nvidia card! The only difference being that Nvidia cards have the PhysX graphics engine that may be used by developers in the future, while ATI's have more cores and ship with a higher shader 4.1 vs 4.0 on Nvidia! So I might be getting my first ATI card soon ;D www.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=13972

Has anyone had a problem with their Nvidia cards?? I had, but it was due to the model: 7900GT cards were known to have random crash which can appear even 1 or 2 weeks after you buy it (due to a component that is not ventilated, when it heat to much, some bugs start to appear, like 3D probs, texture probs, moving dead pixels, and for in the end, nv4.dll BSOD each time you try to launch a 3D game. And this is irreversible). It happens to me after 3 years so i think I'm lucky

Thanks for that Zak Will go and check Nvidia and ATI websites for known problem cards, if there is any I think the bonus of having SLi is if one card gets fried then at least you can use the remaining card till you can get a replacement
