For those who are zombies addicts like me , Killing Floor has been released on Steam 10 days ago.
I had only a few games on it but it looks like a good alternative to L4D.

No reason to not try it out then. I tried preloading but was denied because servers were too busy.

Yep it is totally free for 3 days, and you have also a reduction on the price during the week end if I remember

And yeah, everybody was downloading the "Level up" update, it was released around 10pm (CET) yesterday. I had a lot of problems too and was unable to finish the DL at a reasonable hour ( I gave up at 00.30 am at 70% after 1h30 of discontinuous connexion to the server )
Normally I will play every evening this week end so we can play together, I can give you some help on the basics.

yes, some server are set to have more players, but you cant raise your perks on it, and level 2 or 3 of a perk is recommanded when you want to play on hard level.
I have never tried, the game is well balanced with 6 players and gives a lot of challenge on hard and suicidal difficulties

ahh(sigh of relief) it's finally downloading for me. Couldn't get in the cue for the last day and this morning Steam wouldn't even open for me.

I've prepared a small guide to help the ]UBC['s that have bought Killing Floor (or maybe will buy it soon ) to have a good start with the game.
I'll start to post it this week end, maybe this evening already. It's a little bit long (even if it is a small guide) so it will come in different posts.

I will detail:
Some important basic things on the game

The different Perks and their bonus (even if it is in the game, maybe you haven't notice some details)

The different Specimens (Zombies), their specificities, their weakpoints, and some tricks to deal with the toughest

How the differents waves runs, on a long game basis (10 Waves)


And maybe later details on the weapons and the official maps
