Not knowing whats hot, new or not, Im asking you guys Would like to renew my card, but I don't want to spend like insane amount of money on one, so I was thinking if its possible at all to get a new(ish) card for about 100 USD/70 Euro? Or is that just TO naive and optimistic? If so.. how much(little) would I have to spend on one, that runs QW fine? (on higher settings or at least not Low like I got the game running on now) Heeelp If any got a used 8800 (GS/GTX/BLABLA or whatever it might be ) they want to sell, please let me know

Hi Blue, well i was running a HIS radeon HD2600 pro 512mb card, which was very good at first&only cost me like £30.I started having problem's(black wall's,ground&sky)so i bought a Sapphire HD4870 1gb DDR5 card which cost £150.00.I am still having the problems but not as bad.So i am in the prosses off upgrading my motherboard&processor. Ever seen the film Mad Max?In the garage at the beach part, there is a sign that say's"Speed is just a question off money, how fast do you won't to go" ;D.Well i feel this equates to the same thing in your graphic's card"How fast do you won't to be" .There are alot off card's out there, from cheap&ok to expensive&fast. What i done was to get the best, most upto date card i could for the money i could afford.I have always gone for ATI card's(even when i had an AGP slot).I find that ATI against Nividia you can get a better card for less money.Looking at clock speed's&on board memory capability. Here is a link to a HD 4870 ATI. www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?HIS-48701Compare that against to the nearest Nividia card&i think you will be surprised.I havn't found a Nividia card with DDR5 memory there all still DDR3. Long post but hope it help's make your mindup

Have you think about the RAM memory on your motherboard? Mine was dying and I had many of this black wall and sky. With new one, everything came back to normal. I deduce that the dead memory couldn't load properly some of the textures About the gfx card, I also buy a 4870 from sapphire, the performance are very good for the price, but it warm a lot and it's a bit noisy. A strong power supply is also recommanded.
